Georgetown Behavioral Health Institute offers an Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) in Texas that serve adults aged 18 or older who do not require or qualify for a traditional inpatient program. Patients are invited to our secure mental health facility to receive continued support and mental health education as they heal within their own homes and communities.

We currently offer two models of psychiatric outpatient care: the traditional Intensive Outpatient Program and a Chemical Dependency Intensive Outpatient Program (CD-IOP). Each group meets three hours a day, three days a week, usually for an eight week period. However, the length of stay depends on a patient’s unique treatment plan.

Intensive Outpatient Program Details

Our Intensive Outpatient Program in Texas was developed to provide comprehensive, concentrated, and time-sensitive intensive outpatient treatment to the Austin and Georgetown areas. The program is available to all adults recovering from mental health or substance abuse and are in need of a supportive, empathetic environment. During the program, patients are encouraged to build healthy coping and recovery skills while receiving education about their underlying mental health concerns.

The IOP program is led by a team of licensed mental health professionals dedicated to the success and growth of our patients. Upon an initial mental health assessment, patients will work in tandem with their treatment team, which can include psychologists, registered nurses, therapists, and counselors. Patients will regularly meet with members of their team to determine, further evaluate, and assess their recovery goals. Upon completion of the program, the patient will meet with their team to receive referrals to mental health services available within their community.

Our mental health professionals are knowledgeable in a range of mental health disorders and topics, including:

  • Depression
  • Mood disorders
  • Anxiety/Stress disorders
  • Chronic suicidal ideation
  • Personality disorders
  • Family / interpersonal conflicts
  • Co-occurring disorders
  • Chemical dependency
